Community Guidelines

Last updated: October 1, 2026

PixoChat is a place to draw and talk with friends. Most of it is private or friends-only, and some of it is public. These guidelines are the rules for all of it. They are part of our Terms of Use, and breaking them can get content removed or an account closed.

Who PixoChat is for

People who are at least 13. Nothing on PixoChat may exploit, groom, sexualise or endanger anyone under 18, in a drawing, in text or in behaviour. This is the one rule with no warnings: content that sexualises a minor is removed, the account is closed, and where the law requires it we report it to the authorities.

Be decent

No bullying, targeted harassment, stalking or threats. No encouraging violence against anyone. No attacks on people for their race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, gender, sexual orientation, disability or illness. No encouraging or glorifying suicide or self-harm. Rooms are small and people can see who drew what; treat the people in them the way you would treat them in a room.

Keep it clean

No sexual content of any kind: no pornography, no explicit drawings or descriptions, no nudity presented sexually. No gore or violence drawn to shock. When your iPhone has Sensitive Content Analysis turned on, drawings sent to you are checked on your phone before they are shown to you, and a drawing that is flagged stays covered until you choose to view it. Photos you add, a profile photo or a photo print, are checked on our servers before they appear, and so are your display name and bio.

Be who you are

Do not impersonate another person, a company or PixoChat itself. Do not give a false date of birth. One person, one account.

Do not scam, spam or sell

No scams, phishing or attempts to get someone's password, sign-in code or personal details. No spam, no repeated unwanted messages, no advertising or selling without our permission. No bots, no automated accounts, no tools that fake activity.

Nothing illegal

Do not use PixoChat to sell, promote or link to illegal drugs, weapons, explosives or anything else the law where you or the other person live does not allow, and do not give instructions for making them. No illegal gambling.

Other people's privacy

Do not post other people's private information: passwords, ID documents, phone numbers, addresses, financial details, health information, private messages, or where they are right now. If you would not want it posted about you, do not post it about someone else.

Draw your own

Post what you made or have the right to share. Do not post other people's art, characters or photos as your own, and do not post anything that infringes a copyright or trademark. If someone has posted your work without permission, the Terms of Use explain how to send a copyright notice.

Play fair

Do not hack, scrape, reverse engineer or interfere with PixoChat or with other people's accounts, and do not try to get around a block, a suspension or the checks that keep the service safe.

Public spaces

Where PixoChat has a public space, anyone can see what you post there, and where the app lets people keep or collect it, they can. Deleting your original does not take back their copy. Post there the way you would put something on a noticeboard in town.

Reporting and blocking

You can report any message, drawing, post or person from inside the app. Press and hold a message, or open someone's Studio, and choose Report. You can report on its own, or report and block. The person you report is never told who reported them.

When you report a message, we keep a copy of it with the report, so it can still be reviewed if it is deleted. A report made from someone's Studio keeps their photo and bio as they were at that moment.

Blocking someone hides them from you and you from them, and ends your chat with them: what was said stays readable, but neither of you can send anything new. Removing someone as a friend ends the chat the same way; add each other again to keep chatting. When an account is closed, or its owner deletes it, it leaves everyone's friends list, its chats with them end the same way, and any friend requests to or from it are cleared. A closed or deleted account cannot be added as a friend again.

Reports are read by people. Please do not file reports you know are false. If you would rather write to us, email hello@pixochat.app with the friend code involved and what happened.

What we do

Depending on what happened and whether it has happened before, we may warn you, remove content, hide content from public view, limit what your account can do, suspend it for a while, or close it. We tell you when we act against your account unless the law forbids it or telling you would put someone at risk. A warning, or something of yours we removed, arrives as a note from PixoChat in your Activity. If we suspend or close your account, the app tells you when you open it, and what was reported may be removed at the same time. We cannot promise to catch everything, and we do not promise the same response every time, because the same drawing can mean different things in different rooms.

Appeals

If you think we got it wrong, email hello@pixochat.app with your friend code. A person will read it, and if we were wrong we will put it right.

Changes

When these guidelines change we update the date at the top and, if the change matters, tell you in the app.
